Appointment requests, built into your business website

Give customers a way to request a time even when you cannot answer the phone. Know exactly what happens after they submit, and whether a simple shared schedule fits the way you work.

Onelios is free appointment booking software for small businesses: customers request a time from the hours you set on your website, the slot is held, and the request appears in your leads inbox. You contact the customer to confirm it. Availability uses your Onelios schedule and bookings, not an external calendar.

Example Monday: open 9am–noon in Chicago, with the 10am start already requested. Choose an appointment length or close the day, then try requesting a remaining time.

Before accepting real requests

Choose the kind of visit
A predictable consultation can fit a fixed slot. If the job needs diagnosis, variable travel or several workers, use an inquiry to agree on the scope before arranging a time.
Inspect your real availability
Save your settings, then compare the times shown on your public site with your working calendar. Check the business time zone, days off and whether the whole appointment fits before closing.
Use this example for a practice request
A real request holds its start time. There is currently no owner or customer cancellation control that releases it, so do not submit dummy requests into times you need for paying customers.

Use the website launch checklist to test an inquiry with your own details. After a real appointment is completed, you can choose to ask that customer for a review.

How does online booking work?

You set working days, opening and closing times, appointment length, time zone and days off. Your website offers times within that schedule, excluding slots already requested through Onelios. The customer chooses a time and leaves their contact details. Their confirmation screen says the time is requested and your business will confirm it.

The request is saved in your leads inbox, and Onelios attempts to email you a notification. Check the inbox even if no email arrives. Check the service, location and time, then use Confirm the time by email if the customer supplied an email address. This requires a verified owner account. For a phone-only request, contact the customer yourself; marking it confirmed does not send a text. There are no automatic appointment reminders.

Once a slot has been requested, it is no longer offered to another customer. This protects the same slot inside Onelios; it does not detect appointments in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or a calendar you keep elsewhere.

Set up and check your first booking window

Open Booking in your dashboard and set the days and hours you can accept work. Choose an appointment length and check the time zone, then add any whole days you are unavailable. Press Save availability and inspect the preview of the next times customers will see before sharing your website.

Before you save hours, the website uses the quote form instead of offering assumed appointment times. After saving, open your public website and check the booking section on your phone as well as your computer. Customer times are shown in the business time zone you selected.

Use appointment length to allow enough time for the work you intend to offer. It is one shared slot length for the business, not a different duration or staff calendar for each service. If travel or job duration varies, confirm those details before agreeing on the appointment.

For a concrete check, a 9am–noon window with 60-minute appointments offers starts at 9am, 10am and 11am on an open future day, unless a slot is already taken. Closing a whole day removes its times from the available list.

Check the job before you confirm the time

A requested start time does not tell you that the work will fit. Before confirming, check the requested service, where the job is, how long it is likely to take, travel time and any commitments on another calendar. Contact the customer first if those details are missing.

For a fictional garden-care business, a one-hour consultation could fit a one-hour slot. A request to clear an overgrown yard might need an inspection and a quote first. Do not treat the appointment length as a promise to complete every service in that time.

The confirmation email uses the requested time and service; it is not a custom quotation or a conversation about scope. Agree any missing details separately before pressing Confirm the time by email. If sending fails, the lead still needs your follow-up through the contact details provided.

Is it the right fit for your schedule?

Onelios fits a business that can use one shared schedule, a consistent appointment length, and owner confirmation after each request. It does not sync with Google or Apple calendars, schedule separate staff members, or take deposits and payments. If those are essential, this booking flow will not replace a dedicated scheduling system.

You remain responsible for keeping the hours you offer consistent with commitments outside Onelios. The current settings support weekly hours and whole days off; they do not provide a calendar for blocking individual outside appointments. Do not rely on the system to discover those conflicts.

Keep the appointment length consistent once requests exist. Onelios blocks an already requested start time, not every overlapping interval after you change that length. Recheck existing commitments before changing your schedule.

A fixed-length consultation can suit this flow. A repair that needs inspection, uncertain travel time or several workers is better handled as an inquiry first, with the final appointment arranged after you have the details.

What the customer sees

The customer chooses an offered time and a service, then enters their name and a phone number or email address. They can add a message. There is no customer account or app to install. If no online times are available, the site directs them to the quote form so they can still inquire.

After a successful request, the screen says the time is held and the business will confirm. You initiate confirmation from the leads inbox: Onelios can email a customer who supplied an email address, while a phone-only customer needs your call or message. Check the confirmation result for delivery problems before assuming the customer heard from you.

The booking form is part of the same website as your services and contact details. A customer can read about the work before requesting a time, and use your displayed phone number when a conversation is more appropriate.

Booking requests, quote forms and customer follow-up

Use booking requests when a customer can choose a suitable time before you discuss the work. Use a quote form when you need to understand the job first. Both create records in the leads inbox, so you can review the request and use the customer's contact details to follow up.

A booking with an email address can also become a customer you select for a review request after the work is complete. That request is sent only when you choose to ask; making a booking does not trigger a review email.

The website, appointment requests and review collection are included free right now, with no separate booking subscription. Your existing process still handles invoicing and payment outside Onelios.

Common questions

Is the appointment confirmed automatically?

No. The selected slot is held and the request is saved. You confirm from the leads inbox: Onelios sends an email if the customer supplied an email address. For a phone-only request, you must contact the customer yourself. Automatic appointment reminders are not included.

Does it sync with Google Calendar or Apple Calendar?

No. Availability uses your saved Onelios hours, days off and existing Onelios requests. It does not read or update an external calendar, so it cannot prevent conflicts with appointments recorded elsewhere.

Can I offer different durations for different services or staff?

Not currently. The business has one shared schedule and one appointment length. There are no separate staff calendars or service-specific booking durations.

Can two customers request the same slot?

Once one request is saved, that slot is held. If another customer submits the same slot at the same time, they are asked to choose another. This protection applies to Onelios requests, not outside calendars.

Can a customer cancel or move a booking online?

Not currently. Arrange a change directly with the customer. Changing a lead's status does not release the original slot, and there is no self-service cancellation or rescheduling link. Check with support if a held time needs to be reopened.

Are deposits or appointment reminders included?

No. Onelios does not take payment at booking or send automatic appointment reminders. Arrange payment and any reminder with your customer separately.

Why are no appointment times showing?

First save availability and check your time zone, open days and days off. The form looks ahead 14 days and shows up to 60 available starts; it is not an unlimited calendar. Past times and held starts are excluded, and an appointment must fit before closing. If no times remain, visitors can use the quote form.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. Customers can request a time in their mobile browser without installing an app. Check your own public booking page on your phone after saving availability.

What does it cost?

Appointment requests are included free right now with your Onelios website, with no card and no separate booking subscription.
